Teacher-Led Program to Master Unit 1 with your child in record time!

Join the upcoming Group/Cohort of Parents ready to lead their Children to Early Math Success but need help staying on track.

What is a Cohort?

A cohort is a group of students (yes, parents in this case) who work through the curriculum together to achieve the same academic goal.

This means that everyone who signs up for the Cohort will be working with us to complete Unit 1 with their Child on a schedule.

What's included?

  • Access to Unit 1 Lessons and Worksheets (11 Lessons)
  • 11 Lesson Review Calls and Q&A Sessions
  • Accountability. We are going to get it done!

How it Works

STEP 1

Sign-up for the Unit Cohort and Get Instant Access to Detailed Lesson Plans, Comprehensive Curriculum, Video Lessons, and Practice Worksheets for the Unit.

STEP 2

Join Cohort Kick-off Zoom call to Review Goals and Expectations. You can choose from two different calls to cover different timezones around the world. Make sure you get an Abacus if you don't already have one. Check some we recommend here.

STEP 3

Join Weekly Lesson Review Meeting. You can choose from two different times that cover different timezones around the world. You will need to study the lesson and attempt the worksheets for that week's lesson prior to joining the meeting.

STEP 4

After the call, work with your child on the lesson and the worksheets for the lesson you reviewed on the previous call. Learn the Next Lesson and attempt the worksheets before joining the next Lesson Review Meeting.

STEP 5

After the 10th Lesson Review Meeting for the Unit, work with your child to take the test and complete the Unit. After successfully completing the Unit, you can sign-up for the Next Unit Cohort. Alternately, if you feel confident about working independently with our material with support during weekly office hours, sign-up for the membership to continue learning and teaching.

MEMBERS CORNER

I find "Learn Abacus at Home" to have a very well organized Curriculum and extremely Supportive and Patient staff. Among other things, I really enjoy having this huge boost of positive energy and encouragement from other members in the program. I’m so glad that I found you after exploring other avenues for over a year. I am very satisfied with the results so far.

- Abeer, Parent/Teacher in Saudi Arabia

Hi Raj, my name is Oksana and I would like to thank you for your help! I live in Boston and wanted to open an abacus school here. I signed up for your Learn Abacus At Home program in May 2019 and you may recall did an orientation call with you soon after. I am writing to share the Good News! I finally opened my center in just a couple of months after signing up (it's end of July now) and am now providing trial classes for students. So far I already have about 30 kids scheduled for trial classes. I am very optimistic about it all. Thank you!

- Oksana, Teacher in Boston, USA

I just started working with my children Ages 4 and 11 and they are progressing very quickly – they will probably be teaching me soon . They are eager to learn more everyday. The course is AMAZING!

- Doniyor, Parent of 4 and 11 Year Old in Denmark

I am from Croatia. I am so excited I found this online program so I can learn from the best and teach my kids of 5 and 7 Abacus and later start teaching in my town. Thank you.

- Daorka, Parent - Croatia

I am a teacher in Israel and my goal is to teach children, my own and at school. I have been looking for local partners for abacus learning but couldn't find any. I am so glad I found you. It was great to speak with Raj and ask all my questions. All the best.

- Yeshu, Teacher/Parent - Israel

I am teacher at an international school in Japan. I learned abacus during my teacher training days in Singapore. I am hoping to start an after-school club, so this online course is a great refresher for me!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Cohort and why should I be interested in it?

A Cohort is a group of students who work through the curriculum together to achieve the same academic goal.

After hearing from a number of parents who want to help their children get started with Mind Math and achieve Early Math Success, but feel like they are lacking in confidence and the discipline to teach their child themselves, we are offering this Cohort Option for parents who will benefit from the discipline that comes from working with us on a schedule to complete the course with their child for faster results.

How is a Cohort different from the Membership?

Cohort: Parents who are part of the Cohort will work on a schedule and will be accountable to themselves and others in the group to complete the tasks as indicated above (see "How It Works" section above). Every week, they will be expected to study a lesson and work on few (or all) questions from the worksheets for that lessons before we review the lesson together during that week's "Lesson Review Call". In the week following the call, they will teach their child the lesson they learned the prior week and study the next lesson before next week's "Lesson Review Call". By following this structure, they will maintain the momentum and complete the Unit in the shortest time recommended. Also, as part of the group, they will benefit from learning how other parents are working with their children and questions tha others are asking. So as part of the cohort, we work closely together to encourage each other and learn from each other to achieve the goal of helping our children build Early Math Fluency.

Membership: For parents who are generally able to set their goals and maintain internal discipline, you can work with your child by signing up just for the Membership. The membership includes the entire curriculum, week by week lesson plans, video tutorials and hundreds of practice worksheets. So it also has everything you need in order to teach with confidence. In addition to that, we are always available to our members for questions as and when needed. Members can ask their questions live during bi-weekly office hours. They can also ask questions in our forums and via email. To sign-up for the Membership, click here.

How many students will be in the Cohort?

The size of the Cohort will be between 10 and 25 students. We will not start a cohort with less than 10 parents and the cohort will never have more than 25 parents.

When does the next Cohort begin?

We are currently trying to gauge interest in the Cohort and are requesting that parents sign-up for the waitlist so we know the level of interest. As soon as we have a healthy waitlist, we will announce a start date. Preference will be given to those on the waitlist.

What does it cost to join this Cohort?

We are still finalizing the cost of the Cohort and this will be shared to the waitlist as soon as the schedule is released. With that said, we expect the cost of the Cohort to be around $150. But there will be a special incentive offered only to those on the waitlist to join the cohort as soon as it is announced.

Will I have a teacher who works with me one-on-one?

As indicated, the group is working together with the teacher as part of the Cohort. The teacher will hold a kick-off/welcome call before the weekly lesson review calls begin (see "How it works" section) to review the structure of the program and answer questions.

During the weekly lesson review calls, the teacher will review the particular lesson for that week, provide guidance and answer questions. Before the next lesson review call, you will be expected to study the next lesson and teach the prior lesson to your child.

Will I have homework?

To make sure that you and your child are making progress, you will have a little bit of homework every week. As indicated above, your homework each week is to study the next lesson and teach your child what you learned the prior week and during the lesson review call.

What happens if I miss a session?

With all the best intentions, it happens that sometimes a student might miss a weekly lesson session. The good news is that all sessions will be recorded and you will be able to review the session on you own time later. Should you have questions that other students didn't ask during the session, just drop us an email and we will get right back to you.

Can I cancel and get a Refund?

Every new student, gets a 7-day free trial on sign-up. You pay nothing when you sign up and you get to review the first few lessons of the Unit for 7 days during that time. We strongly recommend that you schedule a one-on-one orientation session with your Cohort teacher during the trial period by emailing info@learnabacusathome.com in case the cohort kick-off call is not during those 7 days. This will allow you to get your questions answered and make sure the cohort will work for you.

If you cancel during the 7-day trial period, your payment method is not charged, your membership is cancelled, and we part as friends.

If you love what what we have to offer during the free trial, just stick around, you’ll only be charged after your trial period is up. Should you attempt to cancel after your payment method has been charged following the free trial, there will be no refunds.
