Abacus is probably new to you and you may feel overwhelmed. It’s understandable and although not easy, it’s not difficult either.
What qualifications do I need to be an Abacus Mind Math Teacher?
Unlike teaching regular school math, you don’t have to be a Math Wizard to be an Abacus Teacher.
As long as you understand basic Math Operations – things that you may have learned through Elementary School, you can be a great Abacus Teacher.
Am I too old or too young to be an Abacus Mind Math Teacher?
There is no age restriction either. We’ve employed and trained high school juniors and seniors to tutor students at our brick and mortar learning center in the past. While in college, some of them have gone on to tutor students to create an income stream for themselves while still in School.
We’ve also employed and trained stay at home moms who wanted to work just a few hours a week as well as established school teachers who wanted to learn and possibly help others down the road.
Great news is that Abacus Math has a finite curriculum. As a teacher you get to pick up the techniques very quickly and stay ahead of your students when you are just starting out.
Unlike regular math where you may be working with each student on completely different topics, with Abacus Math that’s not the case. Whenever you begin working with a new student, you always start them with the basics – the very first lesson in the program.
Where can I get a comprehensive Abacus Mind Math curriculum and training?
The most difficult task as a tutor generally is the research and curation of teaching material and worksheets for your students.
